There is a variety of great places to eat in the village within walking distance of the cottage or in the surrounding area just a short drive away. A selection are detailed below:

In Grassington:

The Foresters Arms (Main Street) – Lively pub atmosphere and popular restaurant for visitors and locals. Plenty of choice on menu, generous portion size. Food served in bar area and restaurant. Grassington House Hotel/No 5 The Square Restaurant. Bar and Terrace area and award winning restaurant. Choice of menus, including a la carte, serving traditional favourites with a contemporary twist. The Black Horse Hotel (top of The Square). Broad selection of traditional English foods, along with a hint of the Continent and a good selection of fish or vegetarian dishes. The Devonshire Pub (Main Street, on The Square). Traditional pub, recently refurbished. Food served all day, every day in bar and restaurant. Nice place to go for a drink next to an open fire. Tel: (01756) 752525

Cobblestone Café (on The Square). Traditional tea room & cafe serving homemade fare in delightful surroundings. Enjoy a warm, cosy atmosphere inside or dine al fresco in the warmer months at the small paved area at the front of the cafe. Perfect for cooked breakfasts, lunch or cake. The Corner House Café (top of The Square). Bijou café offers high quality meals and snacks alongside homemade cakes and bakes. Gluten free options available. Good for children and pets, muddy boots welcome. Closed Monday and Tuesday. Tel: (01756) 752414

The Retreat Café (Main Street). Vegetarian and Vegan café. Serves a variety of meals and freshly made sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. Selection of vegan meals, gluten and dairy free cakes available. Good for children and pets welcome. Closed Wednesday and Thursday. Tel: (01756) 751887

Rozis Tandoori Restaurant and Takeaway (Main Street). Good portion size and plenty of vegetarian options available. Take your own bottle if you wish to consume alcohol in the restaurant, which is located upstairs. Open every day from 17.00pm – 23.30pm. Delivery not available. Tel: (01756) 753342

The Fish Shop (Garrs Lane, opposite The Corner House Café). Traditional fish and chips, gluten free available on request. Open for lunch and tea/early evening. Closed Sunday and Monday. Tel: (01756) 752436

A short distance from Grassington:

The Fountaine Inn, Linton (1.5 miles, walkable from Grassington. Head to the National Park Car Park, take the footpath in the far left hand corner down the Snake Walk to Linton Falls. Cross the bridge and follow the path to the road. Go up the hill, over the cross roads and into Linton). An idyllic Inn, one of the most beautiful settings in the Yorkshire dales, set alongside the village green, overlooking Linton Beck. Offers light bites to fine dining, bar, restaurant and snug area. Food served all day, every day, from 12 noon. Booking advisable at weekends. Pets welcome in bar & snug area. The Kings Head, Kettlewell (6.2 miles). Award winning, traditional, family run pub in the picturesque village of Kettlewell. Range of local cask ales. Food served specialises in delivering a modern approach to pub classics. Fresh menu each day. Open every day (lunches and evening meals), with the exception of Mondays between September to April when the pub is closed. The Angel Inn, Hetton (5 miles). Located adjacent to Rylstone, famed for its W.I. and the Calendar Girls story. The Angel is well known for its fine dining and has won many awards. Seasonally changing, locally sourced menus offer modern British dishes with French Yorkshire nuances. Choose from the informal Bar Brasserie or the more formal Restaurant which has an a la carte three rosette menu and a gourmet tasting menu. Good selection for fish lovers. The Craven Arms and Cruck Barn, Appletreewick (7.5 miles). Traditional pub, serving real ales and good, home cooked, food. A beer garden offers superb views of the dale and the cruck barn which is open for meals, if not booked out for a private function, provides a unique atmosphere with its soaring oak truss work that carries the traditional heather thatched roof. The Gamekeepers Inn, Long Ashes Park, Threshfield (2.3 miles). Pub offering home-made food, good beers, wine and guest ales. Choose from nibbles, light bites or the full menu in the comfort of the dining conservatory, traditional pub bar area, or snug. Open every day (lunches & evening meals, except on week-ends when food is served all day). Good for children (there is an outdoor play area in the pub garden) and pets welcome in bar area. The Old Hall Inn, Threshfield (1.3 miles, walkable from Grassington. Walk down Grassington Main Street and Station Road. Cross over Grassington Bridge and into Threshfield. Walk straight through Threshfield until you reach a T junction, turn left and the Old Hall Inn is situated on your right, opposite the village green). Old English Pub, a la carte menu.
