You can find Oakbank on Google Maps by searching for ’32 Chapel Street, Grassington’ or the postcode ‘BD23 5BE’ and get detailed directions from your starting point or alternatively follow our directions below.
Approaching Skipton on the A629, A59 or A65, take the northern bypass (A59/A65). At the roundabout where the B6265 intersects with the bypass, take the B6265, sign posted Grassington. Keep on the main road.
After 0.3 miles you will see The Craven Heifer Inn on your right. After 3.8 miles you will pass the small village of Rylstone, famous for the ‘Calendar Girls’, with its village pond on your left. At 4.7 miles you will enter the village of Cracoe, please note that there is a 40 mph limit. Then at 6.0 miles you will pass Swinden Quarry, with its small railway siding, on your left. You will soon reach the village of Threshfield. At 7.5 miles you should have the village pub ‘The Old Hall’ on your left. Remaining on the main road, just after the pub, take your second right, sign posted Grassington. Driving through Threshfield you will pass ‘The Hedgerow’ florist and coffee shop on your left. The road then dips downhill to Grassington Bridge, taking you over the River Wharfe and up the hill to Grassington itself.
At the top of the hill, at 8.9 miles, take your second left onto Grassington Main Street. On approaching the square keep LEFT. Proceed up the hill and take the left by the town hall with the clock tower, on to Chapel Street. Proceed on this lane for approximately 250 yards (passing the Methodist Church and turning for Intake Lane on your right), and you will see a row of cottages on the right which front on to the lane. Oakbank is the cottage at the end of this row. Parking is on street and normally available on the lane adjacent (Bank Lane) or on Chapel Street itself.
